HOLIDAY FAIR RETURNS TO ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH
Ayer, Massachusetts—November 10, 2008--The annual Holiday Fair at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will welcome the greater Massachusetts community on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The fair, beginning at 9:00 am through 3:00 pm, will be held in the Parish Hall next door to the historic church that was first established in 1889, located at 7 Faulkner Street, Ayer, MA. Admission is free.
Among the highlights of the Holiday Fair will be the Silent Auction. “Visitors will have the opportunity to write down a concealed bid,” said Carolyn Smith, Holiday Fair coordinator. “Items for bid include small furnishings, art, silver, collectibles, glassware, and the ever popular antiques donated by parishioners and community friends.”
Andrew’s Attic features treasures from long forgotten items found in the recesses of church members’ attics. The Jewelry Center will be popular among value hunters looking for costume jewelry, including old and new baubles, beaded wearables, and bangles. Knitters, stitchers, and crafters have combined their creative talents to offer original items for the home and to keep warm on cold winter nights. Food gifts include homemade gourmet jams and jellies and Cookies-by-the-pound, a main attraction of more than 50 varieties of homemade cookies. The Bakery Shop spotlights homemade baked goods, wrapped and ready for gift giving or for taking home to satiate visitors’ appetites for sweets. The Used Book Sale will provide a wonderful means for bargain hunters’ holiday shopping. Handcrafted holiday decorations and handmade balsam Christmas wreathes will be a delightful addition to homes for the season’s holidays.
Some of the finest cooks from members of the church will cater to hearty appetites with a sit down lunch with their specialties of homemade beef stew, homemade corn chowder, homemade apple pie, sandwiches, desserts, and much more.
